Uniting to fight hunger in our community by collecting food through drives and powering up local food banks.
Hunger
With the rising costs of living and financial pressures, many locals are finding it difficult to afford food & are skipping meals.
Local Community Initiatives
We together with other local groups, hold food drives and additional initiatives to ensure families and their children receive essential groceries.
Hunger
Many people in our local community are struggling to afford basic necessities, including food. Rising living costs and unexpected financial pressures have left families and individuals unable to put meals on the table.
This growing issue of food insecurity means that more people are going hungry or skipping meals to make ends meet.

Local Community Initiatives
The Lugarno Lions Club with support from the Riverwood Hornets, holds regular Food Drives at Riverwood Plaza, with all donations going to local food banks, including South West Evangelical Church (SWEC), Georges River Life Care, and the Crateful Group.
Through its Helping Hands initiative, SWEC assembles food hampers for families in Kingsgrove and nearby suburbs—distributing over 800 hampers since March, each filled with fresh produce and essential groceries for those in need.
In addition, the Lugarno Lions and their supporters run a Breakfast Club at Hannan’s Road Public School, ensuring children start the day with a nutritious meal. This program is generously supported with food donations from the Crateful Group and Woolworths Riverwood.
